JOBST® Long-Stretch Bandages

When to Use JOBST Long-Stretch Bandages

Long-stretch compression bandages are used in the management of various orthopedic and venous diseases. They provide support and relief for sport injuries, such as distorsions, contusions, luxations, or edema after trauma, or for tendon inflammations (tendovaginitis). Additionally, long-stretch compression bandages can be used in the follow-up treatment of venous diseases or for thrombosis prophylaxis.

How Long-Stretch Bandages Work

Long-stretch bandages are compression bandages which stretch more than 100% of their original length and provide lower pressures at a given stretch. JOBST long-stretch bandages promote the resorption of hematomas, which is especially important for the management of sport injuries. They also support venous blood return and help prevent swelling, making them suitable for the management of certain venous conditions.

Suitable for Orthopedic and Venous Conditions

JOBST Eloflex and JOBST Elodur forte are long-stretch bandages made of air-permeable material. If properly applied at constant stretch, they create a decreasing pressure gradient from the distal body part (like the ankle or wrist) to the proximal body part (like the thigh or arm). They maintain their elasticity after washing.
Due to its unique manufacturing technique, the material of Elodur forte is stiffer, whereas Eloflex is more elastic.
